London Climate Action Week

Sustaining All Life and United to End Racism took part in London Climate Action Week, offering events in person.

Below is a brief overview of the events we offered:

Building Resilience in a Climate Crisis: This event, offered jointly by Brahma Kumaris and Sustaining All Life, provided an opportunity for reflection, sharing, planning and meditation to mark London Climate Action Week. In light of the ongoing geopolitical issues, hottest days in decades, food shortages and other pressing concerns, the event offered a listening circle to address these questions: How do I feel about this? Have I found a safe space to share? and How do I build my resilience?

Climate Change and War; Tackling Injustices Together: This workshop focused on healing from the effects of injustice and war because this is essential if we are to work together to end the climate crisis. Our economic system’s insatiable search for more is bringing us closer to a fatal climate situation.

The climate emergency sits on top of a pile of destruction that includes racism, war and genocide, to name just a few. The impacts on us of growing up in such a divided and damaging system are far reaching. Healing from the effects of injustice and war are essential as we move to think and act together.

Sustaining All Life has tools that can support everyone’s decision to end war and racism and bring about a world set on peace, justice, and climate stability. At this workshop, the leaders shared some learned perspectives and invited people to share something of themselves and listen as others did the same.

(Postponed to 9th July,2026 due to heat wave) What’s Sexism Got to Do with the Climate Crisis?: this workshop explored how the climate crisis affects women and girls, and how listening exchanges strengthen and sustain our organising. Our panelists discussed the links between climate breakdown and sexism, including the role men can play as allies. Participants had the chance to share experiences and practise listening together.

The workshop leaders reminded us that when women and girls build alliances across our differences—and when men commit to being dependable allies—we become a powerful force for ending climate devastation. As caregivers, resource stewards, and community leaders, we hold essential knowledge. Listening to one another helps us heal from sexism and other oppressions, and deepens our capacity to act collectively.
