The voices and leadership of women are key in the fight for climate justice. The climate emergency disproportionately impacts women, and genocide, sexism, racism, and other oppressions multiply the impact. Women’s indigenous knowledge, intelligence and understanding of the importance of relationships need to be at the center of climate solutions.
Women from the Global South understand caring for and living sustainably with the environment. They have been living in a continuous relationship with each other, the land and the waters surrounding them.
In this Forum, Women from different Countries in the Global South will speak from their personal experiences on how the climate crisis threatens their homes, way of life, their very existence—and how they organize to stop it.
