SAL with No Limits for Women presents Women on the Frontlines of Climate Change
SAL is presenting a virtual workshop–Women on the Frontlines of Climate Change at the Commission on the Status of Women’s forum, Wednesday 12 March, 8:30 – 10 am EDT.
Women are a revolutionary force. They have been at the forefront of many important social movements. They play a vital role in the climate movement. As climate change continues to be a global threat, Women and girls are disproportionately impacted, especially in the Global South. This amplifies the existing inequalities they face such as threats to their safety, health and well-being.
In this event we will be hearing from a diverse panel of women, as we look at: * How systemic and structural sexism limit women’s access to the resources and experiences that can better prepare them to handle disasters and adapt to climate change * Tools that equip us to face the emotional impact of the climate emergency, listening to each other without interruption and supporting each other’s natural healing processes. * Healing from the damage done by sexism and male domination, making it possible for women’s voices to be central in decision-making.
