Wednesday 28th June 6-7.30pm London, Greenpeace, Canonbury Villas, London N1 2PN
For white people to learn how addressing racism is crucial in tackling the climate crisis and practise listening skills that will help you become more effective in climate work.
Participants will hear an explanation of Sustaining All Life (SAL) listening tools, and have several paired co-listening sessions during the workshop. The workshop will outline how racism is installed on white people and provide listening tools to help us to undo its impact. We will strengthen our connections with each other and with people of African, Asian and Indigenous heritage. We will look at the intersection between racism and the climate crisis. Facing the reality of racism and climate breakdown brings up many painful feelings. Learning how to listen effectively to each other as we face and talk about how racism has affected us is an important “action” towards freeing our minds and acting more decisively in ending racism in the world.
