Listening to one another’s experiences as Africans impacted by climate change is important. We need stories of hope, commitment and courage. Stories that will unite, inspire and rekindle our spirit, stories that also tell of our struggles as a continent in relation to Climate Change.
This Forum welcomes African climate change activists to talk about the impact of climate change in their countries and communities. It grants opportunities to share personal stories of activism that communicate determination, hope and courage. It also offers a unique and wholesome opportunity to better understand the current threats of climate change in Africa.
You will get to hear Africans share their own experiences with the world and relate to one another globally. At intervals during the forum, participants will be in small groups of two or more to process what they have heard, and take turns to listen to each other’s stories. This way, everyone has a chance to tell their own story and to process what they hear, as well as express their emotions and hurts caused by climate change and its effects. Sharing experiences is a powerful tool that strengthens our resolve, commitment and activism.
