Without working to end sexual violence and heal its effects, our societies cannot achieve women’s equality, the equality of all people, and the empowerment of women and girls. While sexual violence and threats of sexual violence are experienced by every woman and girl, the impact of this form of violence disproportionately affects women and girls who are poor, of color, young, and/or marginalized. Our panel of grassroots women leaders from around the world will discuss a) the tools they have used to overcome the emotional effects of sexual violence in their own lives and b) how to help others to do the same.
