The Central Role of Young People in the Climate Movement

>> SAL at New York Climate Action Week 2025 <<

Young people are at the front lines of the climate crisis. It is our future that is threatened. However, we young people have the least say in how society is run.

In this workshop adults and young people look at young people’s oppression. We see how it keeps young people (and others) from being involved in the climate movement. We find ways to move past the oppression and be involved.

followed by Healing Circle (optional)
12:30 – 1:30pm

Healing circles based on shared experiences give people a chance to be listened to about feelings connected to climate change. Having the chance to share feelings of grief, fear, anger, discouragement, and hope in a mutually supportive group can refresh us and give us new ideas for action.
